Learn About Real Case Results for Real People in Livingston County
When we say we have local experience, we mean it. King Law has represented numerous clients in Geneseo and beyond. We have achieved meaningful results for our clients facing criminal charges in the area. Here are just a few examples of positive outcomes for our Livingston County-area clients:
The People v. M.B.
Following a tragic traffic fatality on Interstate 390, our client was charged with vehicular manslaughter in the second degree and driving while ability impaired by drugs (DWAI). Our firm knew from the outset that our client was overcharged, and in fact, should not have been charged criminally at all. We got to work building our defense. The charges were dismissed in their entirety by a Livingston County Court Judge prior to commencing a trial.
The People v. L.R.
In this case, our client was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a firearm for firearms that she could not legally possess in New York. The case involved extreme complexities involving security clearances that our client had for her employment. This case involved significant negotiations and resulted in a sealed disorderly conduct.
The People v. W.S.
Our client was facing a felony violation of probation. This came with the prospect of being sentenced to state prison for up to 4 years. After our attorneys presented mitigation to the prosecution and the court, our client was released from jail and was sentenced to weekends in the Livingston County Jail.
The People v. J.B.
Our client was dealing with multiple issues, including criminal charges in the town of Geneseo as well as Title IX violations at SUNY Geneseo. The charges stemmed from a combination of mental health issues and an unhealthy relationship. After nearly two years of representing J.B., his criminal charges were sealed, and he was reinstated to SUNY Geneseo after a one-year suspension.
The People v. M.G.
Our client was a successful entrepreneur who was arrested for charges 15 years prior. Unfortunately, a bench warrant was issued due to confusion that developed in the court process. Our client now lived out of state and ran two successful businesses. Despite having a bench warrant for that long, we were able to achieve a dismissal of the charges without our client ever having to return to Mount Morris.
