Mr. Caranante was born and raised on Long Island, New York. He moved to Western New York in 2008 when he attended SUNY Fredonia. He majored in Political Science and minored in Criminal Justice.
After graduating college in 2012, Mr. Caranante attended the University of Buffalo Law School, where he served on the executive board of the Buffalo Law Review. He graduated cum laude in 2015.
Prosecutorial Experience
After law school, Mr. Caranante moved to Rochester and served as an Assistance District Attorney in the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office for over six years.
He was first assigned to the Local Courts Bureau where he prosecuted thousands of misdemeanors and violation level offenses.
Mr. Caranante was then promoted to the Felony Driving While Intoxicated Bureau, where he spent more than a year prosecuting repeat DWI offenders and serious vehicular assaults.
Finally, Mr. Caranante was promoted to the Major Felony Bureau, where he spent two years prosecuting violent felonies, including murders, robberies, and home burglaries. During his last year as an ADA, he won three homicide trials, all of which garnered local press attention.

At King Law, Mr. Caranante focuses his legal practice on personal injury litigation.
In addition to his experience as a prosecutor, Mr. Caranante also served as the Principal Law Clerk to New York State Supreme Court Justice John J. Ark who has served on the bench for twenty-nine years.
During his time as a Law Clerk, he gained valuable experience in all stages of civil litigation. With respect to personal injury litigation, he researched complex legal issues; drafted opinions, decisions, and orders; and conducted discovery, pre-trial, and settlement conferences with attorneys.
Mr. Caranante’s judicial experience provides him with unique insight into a judge’s perspective on settlement negotiations and case resolutions.
