Rochester Wins Pepsi “Hype Your Hometown” Contest

On January 18th, Rochester residents will be celebrating the upcoming Super Bowl in style. Pepsi will be sponsoring the town’s own halftime show, featuring Nico and Vinz, a Norwegian country-rock duo. The free concert will take place downtown at the corner of East Avenue & Chestnut Street at 6 p.m.

But that’s not all. Pepsi looks forward to building excitement for the event by placing vending machines throughout the town. Residents will have the chance to win VIP passes or meet and greets. A mobile Hype Squad will also be rolling through town, which is sure to heighten the anticipation.

Rochester was the winner of Pepsi’s ‘Hype Your Hometown’ contest, which encouraged residents to submit photos of their hometown pride while incorporating Pepsi products.

Several lucky fans residing in Rochester also look forward to cheering on their favorite football team live at the Super Bowl on February 1st. Those who won tickets through the Pepsi contest are undoubtedly thrilled to be attending the Pepsi Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show in Arizona starring Katy Perry.

When asked about her thoughts on the big day, Rochester’s Mayor shared how excited she is that their town won the contest. She anticipates joining with individuals all throughout Rochester on January 18th to celebrate the concert.

HAVE FUN, BUT KEEP YOURSELF SAFE!

While this will certainly be a great celebration to hype up the approaching Super Bowl, it is important to stay safe on the big day. No matter how much fun you’re having, make a plan that keeps you off the roads if you’ve been drinking. Police officers will likely be out in full force looking for DWI offenders.

Choosing a designated driver, limiting yourself to just one drink, or taking public transportation are all excellent ways to prevent encounters with law enforcement. So this Sunday, enjoy celebrating your hometown and keep yourself safe while doing it!
